We’ve gotten so comfortable with darkness that we’ve started calling it entertainment.
Witchcraft is a trend. Tarot cards are a marketing gimmick. Astrology is a personality trait. Ouija boards are games. And when someone questions it, the response is almost always the same:
“It’s not that serious.”
But if God took these practices seriously enough to warn us about them in Scripture, why are we so determined to defend them?
In this episode of Light Through the Cracks, we’re confronting the normalization of occult practices and imagery through Halloween, advertising, entertainment, and everyday culture. We’re talking about spiritual warfare, biblical discernment, and the uncomfortable reality that sometimes we’re more willing to justify what we enjoy than surrender what God is asking us to examine.
This isn’t about fear. And it isn’t about condemning people.
It’s about asking a question many Christians don’t want to answer: Are we genuinely following Jesus, or are we just finding biblical-sounding excuses to keep doing what we want?
Because following Christ was never supposed to mean seeing how much darkness we can entertain while still calling ourselves Christians.

Who is the Messiah—and what if the answer changes everything?
In this episode, we’re asking the hard questions about Christianity and Judaism, examining Scripture, prophecy, sacrifice, and the resurrection to explore one of the biggest questions of faith: Did Jesus fulfill what God promised, or are we still waiting?
This isn’t about attacking Jewish people or disrespecting a faith. It’s about challenging assumptions, looking honestly at the evidence, and being willing to have the conversations that aren’t always comfortable.
Because if we’re searching for truth, we can’t be afraid to ask the hard questions.
And when it comes to Jesus, the question isn’t just what you believe—it’s whether what you believe is true.
 

What if addiction doesn’t always look like addiction?
We usually know what we’re looking for when we think about addiction. Drugs. Alcohol. Pills. Gambling. Pornography.
But what about the things that look completely normal?
The relationship you can’t walk away from.The validation you constantly need.The phone you can’t put down.The work you hide behind.The control you can’t let go of.The chaos you keep returning to.The things you use to escape when life gets too uncomfortable.
At what point does a habit become a grip?
And what happens when the thing you’re running to becomes the very thing that’s running your life?
This isn’t a conversation about pointing fingers or throwing labels around. It’s about getting honest enough to look at the things we may have normalized, justified, or simply refused to call what they are.
Because sometimes the hardest addiction to recognize is the one that doesn’t look like addiction at all.
So maybe don’t ask yourself, “Am I an addict?”
Ask yourself something harder:
“What has a grip on me?”
Let’s have the conversation we don’t always want to have.

What If You Actually Want to Be Deceived?
We talk a lot about false prophets—but what if the uncomfortable part isn’t just who is doing the deceiving? What if sometimes we’re willing to believe it because it’s exactly what we wanted to hear?
In Part 2, we get into how Scripture tells us to test what we’re hearing, why miracles and spiritual experiences don’t automatically prove someone is from God, why we can’t put pastors and religious leaders on pedestals, and why sincerity doesn’t always equal truth.
Because someone can sound spiritual, quote the Bible, have a huge following, and still be wrong.
And sometimes the hardest thing isn’t recognizing deception.
It’s being willing to admit that the thing we believed might not actually be true.

“God told me…”
We hear those words all the time. But what happens when the person saying them is wrong?
